Many people assume that marijuana was made illegal through some kind of process involving scientific, medical, and government hearings; that it was to protect the citizens from what was determined to be a dangerous drug. The actual story shows a much different picture. 
Those who voted on the legal fate of this plant never had the facts, but were dependent on information supplied by those who had a specific agenda to deceive lawmakers. The very first federal vote to prohibit marijuana was based entirely on a documented lie on the floor of the Senate.

Were the RICHES Country in the WORLD, yet our Government gives 2nd RATE CARE when it comes to our PATIENTS.

In the 14 years I've worked in marijuana law reform, few events have
struck me as so needlessly tragic as the federal government's
consistent and deliberate stifling of medical cannabis research.
Nowhere is the Fed's refusal to allow this science more overt and
inhumane than as it pertains to the investigation of cannabinoids as
anti-cancer agents, particularly in the treatment of gliomas.

As noted in today's wire stories regarding Sen. Edward Kennedy's
diagnosis, glioma is an aggressive form of cancer that affects an
estimated 10,000 Americans annually. Standard treatments for the
cancer include radiation and chemotherapy, though neither procedure
has proven particularly effective -- the disease kills approximately
half its victims within one year and all within three years.

But what if there was an alternative treatment for gliomas that
could selectively target the cancer while leaving healthy cells
intact? And what if federal bureaucrats were aware of this
treatment, but deliberately withheld this information from the
public?

Sadly, the above questions are not hypothetical. As I originally
wrote in a 2004 essay for Alternet.org, titled Pot Shows Promise as
a Cancer Cure":

In fact, the first experiment documenting pot's anti-tumor effects
took place in 1974 at the Medical College of Virginia at the behest
of the U.S. government. The results of that study, reported in an
Aug. 18, 1974, Washington Post newspaper feature, were that
marijuana's psychoactive component, THC, "slowed the growth of lung
cancers, breast cancers and a virus-induced leukemia in laboratory
mice, and prolonged their lives by as much as 36 percent."

I feel it's a sad State of affairs when Lobbyist & others ("DRUG PUSHERS" dictate 

to congress their own agendas to be included if they become elected. Elected officials must vote the way they are told to, most often a way that benefits the 

"Puppet Masters" own agendas or become in their "Cross hairs" for becoming non-elected in the next election cycle.  I am trying to do my part to expose the tremendous fraud committed 
by our elected officials fueled by the pharmaceutical lobbyist to have “supposedly your government” vote the way they say  
                                  "For the people, by the people" MY ASS!

I do have some hope & it comes in the form of a U.S. Senator (r- IA) Chuck Grassley   he has started to investigate the major corruption in Church dealings. I can only hope & pray he will look into & overhaul the way our broken health Care system operates. We are one of the richest countries in the world, yet we have a bunch of Drug Pushers in Washington guiding our Health Care. You may have even seen them talking to your Doctor, waiting to experiment some new Drug on you.  I just hope health care is next! You can do your part by reducing or eliminating Prescription Drugs. Just a fact, Prescription drugs is a polluter of our water & air while Medical Marijuana (MMJ) does the opposite & cleans our air.
Senator Grassley is actively seeking out evil doers like the executives of now debunked ENRON & the people who permit the lobbyist to “RAPE” the American TAX payer & don’t forget your Vote counts! Please VOTE, if you can! I say if I lived in IA I would vote 4 him!

(MMJ) Marijuana has proven it's worthiness over the last 1000+ years. If some people will leave there predigest at the door & realize your Local, County,  State Governments 
can be great $$ beneficiaries by TAXING MMJ.

I thought the Government was ours to make work more smoothly for all?
 
I don't know about you, but I'm tired of being lied to by our 
                                                           federal government!
